Simon Bowden Simon’s experience in the architectural industry spans 25 years and a dozen built projects covering a diverse range of sectors including airports, cultural buildings, schools, offices and residential projects.
Prior to setting up his own Soho based studio in 2011, Simon worked as a partner for Foster + Partners, Make Architects and Conran & Partners.
Simon studied architecture at the Bartlett School and the Royal College of Art. His philosophy is based on the belief that good design can improve the quality of
people’s lives.
He has developed a strong team around him in the last three years focused on delivering exceptional buildings through rigorous design. The results are elegant and memorable architectural schemes that last longer and lifts the spirits.
Dan Slavinsky Dan is Project Director at Simon Bowden and leads the design on a number of projects in Westminster, including Marylebone Square and 204 Great Portland Street.
Previously, he gained valuable experience at Make Architects, where he worked on a number of on-site projects including 5 Broadgate, and undertook his early training at CZWG Architects.
Dan studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, and Nottingham and Westminster Universities, and has qualified as an architect with a Distinction in Design. He is fluent in Russian.
Marc Fleming Marc is Project Director at Simon Bowden, and has expertise at all stages of project delivery, from concept design through to construction. He has extensive experience in office, residential and cultural sectors.
Marc currently oversees a 200,000 sqft mixed-use development in Westbourne Park, a 65,000 sqft 11-storey residential building in St John’s Wood and the refurbishment and extension of a Grade II listed office building in the City of London.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden, Marc worked at Claridge Architects. Marc undertook his architectural education at the University of Nottingham and University of East London. He is fluent in German.
Aga Prusik Agnieszka (Aga) is Project Director at Simon Bowden, specialising in residential apartment design. She leads several residential developments including 292 Vauxhall Bridge Road and a major 764 home residential scheme in Royal Arsenal Riverside, Greenwich.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden, she worked at Shaun Clarkson ID on the interior for several London restaurants and hotels, and FCP Architects on office refurbishments for blue chip clients. She has also gained experience in Poland designing high-end homes.
Aga completed her Masters in Architecture and Urban Design in her home city at the Krakow University of Technology in Poland. She is fluent in Polish.
Ola Olko Ola has experience in many areas of architectural design and at all stages of project delivery, from concept design through construction and delivery. She worked on the Marketing Suite, 292 Vauxhall Bridge Road, and the Drinking Fountain.
Previously she gained experience at Wowczak architects based in Krakow, where she participated in designing and restoring public and historical buildings as well as several masterplanning schemes. She was also assistant site manager for the recently built Krakow underground train station. Ola completed a Masters in Architecture and Urban Design at the Cracow University of Technology in Poland.
Currently Ola is an SBA representative in Krakow, Poland. She is fluent in Polish.
Adam Toth Adam is the studio’s 3D visualisation artist and architect. He works on the visualisations for a wide range of the practice’s projects from concept to marketing images. He has extensive experience manage large scale projects with tight deadlines.
After completing his Master in architecture at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, worked for Vincze & Laszlo Architects in Budapest as an architectural assistant before coming to London in 2011 where he took up a position with Interpretations Marking as a 3D graphic visualiser. Subsequent to this Adam has also worked as a freelance contractor for AECOM, where he worked on West Bay Masterplan, Doha. He is fluent in Hungarian.
Yin Tso As Studio Manager, Yin ensures the smooth day to day operation of the studio. This includes the management of administration, financial records and human resources.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden Architecture, Yin worked for global organisations such as International SOS and HCA International where she developed her organisational and interpersonal skills.
After completing her degree at the Bartlett School of Architecture, Yin began studying towards her ACCA qualifications.
Dirce Medina Dirce works in diverse projects and competitions, developing conceptual designs, drawings and 3D models. Her current projects include Woodfield place and housing initiative.
Dirce completed a Master in Architecture at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Previous to joining Simon Bowden Architecture, she worked in Mexico City at Fernando Romero Enterprise and Enric Miralles/Benedetta Tagliabue based in Barcelona, Spain. She gained valuable design experience developing complex geometries on a variety of projects, including Copagri’s Pavilion for Milan Expo 2015 and Mexico City’s new International Airport. Dirce has also led workshops in computational design at the University of Alicante.
Dirce is a fluent Spanish speaker.
Karol Skowerski Karol is currently working on the Royal Arsenal Riverside development, London, being responsible for structure and services co-ordination, BIM modelling and podium design
Karol completed masters in Architecture and Urban Design at the Krakow University of Technology in Poland. During his studies he gained experience participating in many architectural competitions and worked part time for several architectural studios in the city. He enjoys creating inspirational spaces for people which stimulate creativity and a distinct sense of place. He is fluent in Polish.
Joe Armstrong Joe is a Part II Architectural Assistant currently working on the design of a high end residential development in west London. He previously worked on a competition for a proposed mixed use development in central London.
Joe was awarded the Shoaib Mahmad Rawat Student Award First Prize 2016 for best design portfolio, where he also gained a distinction whilst studying at the University of Westminster. Previously Joe has worked as a Part 1 at Donald Insall Associates working on conservation projects such as the Palace of Westminster and Kew Gardens.
Outside of work Joe is a keen ceramist and attends a weekly evening course. He is in the process of completing his Part III architectural qualification at The University of Westminster.
Jadwiga Marcowska Jadwiga is currently working on Royal Arsenal Riverside, London, being responsible for apartment planning.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden, Jadwiga worked at Marek Trela Architekt based in Krakow. Her main duties included conceptual design, producing technical documentation and coordinating projects at all stages of the development process. While in Poland she gained extensive experience in residential, hotel, retail and high end office buildings.
Jadwiga studied Architecture and Urban Planning at Krakow University of Technology in Poland and The University of Tennesee in Knoxville in USA. Jadwiga has also worked as an intern for several French and Polish architectural offices. She is fluent in Polish.
Thomas Grove Thomas is a Part II Architectural Assistant working on the ornamental facade system for 30 Lodge Road as well as the BIM modelling for the Moxon Street redevelopment in Marylebone.
Previously, Thomas has worked as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant for HOK Architects where he participated in several international design competitions as well as working on education projects in Tanzania and Malaysia.
He has recently completed his MArch studies at the University of Westminster where his studies focused on contemporary ornamentation and 2D architectural representation. As well his work in the studio he is also a regular guest critic at both the University of Westminster and Liverpool John Moores University.
Dhiren Patel Dhiren is an Architect at Simon Bowden. Currently he is working on the stage 3 design of a mixed-use development on Great Portland Street in Fitzrovia; previously he worked on Lancelot place, a development of five luxury homes in Knightsbridge.
Before joining Simon Bowden, he worked at Wilmotte and Associates on various commercial schemes before moving to Jo Cowen Architects who specialised in high quality design led developments where he worked on a number of projects from concept to construction.
Dhiren completed his BSc at the Bartlett School of Architecture and his March/Dip studies at The University of Westminster.
Asier Ochoa Asier is an Architectural Assistant at Simon Bowden. Currently working on the design of a mixed-use development in Richmond and assisting his colleagues on number of projects in Westminster.
Before joining Simon Bowden, he gained international experience at Fuksas and Veritas Design Group, where he worked on a number of competitions and on-site projects including CBD cultural centre and Penang Sentral Transportation Hub.
Asier completed his MArch studies at the School of Architecture of the EHU, and University of Oulu in Finland. He is fluent in Basque and Spanish.
Pawel Block Pawel is the studio’s BIM Manager and Architect specialising in Revit. His career started in Gdansk, Poland where he studied Architecture and Urban Design. His main field of experience is in residential architecture which he gained working for a variety of companies including Proconcept, IBG and K&L Art Design. In 2011 he moved to London where he joined Andraoss Associates where he worked on two beautiful villas up to their completion. Recently he had the pleasure to work on the Wardian development for his former office GHA.
Pawel also has experience in visualisation as well as web and graphical design. His main passions except architecture are photography and astronomy ad as a consequence can often be found chasing solar eclipses around the world.
David Correia David is an Architect at Simon Bowden, currently working on the Moxon Street redevelopment in Marylebone.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden, he gained significant experience in architecture studios in Lisbon where he worked on a number of projects that included both conceptual design and project coordination at all stages.
David studied at the Lusiada University of Lisbon, and completed his Masters in the University of Florence in Italy. He is fluent in Portuguese and Italian.
Sasha Nakitende An Admin Assistant at Simon Bowden, Sasha helps support the office by covering general duties as well as her fellow colleagues on current projects.
Prior to joining the team, Sasha recently completed her RIBA Part I degree at Liverpool John Moore’s University where she was creatively challenged, developing a variety of projects during the three years of study. In addition to her day-to-day role, Sasha also likes to get involved in social activities outside the office. Most recently helping PUP & WUH Architects in the construction of creating an Ante-Pavilion and a launch party to celebrate the winning of a competition held by the Architecture Foundation.
Emma-Louise Sylvester An Admin Assistant at Simon Bowden, Emma-Louise helps assist in the day to day administrative duties in the studio.
Prior to joining the team, Emma-Louise recently returned from the South of France where she participated in a variety of renovation and construction projects including converting an old farm house into a holiday home. During her time in France, Emma-Louise also worked as a part-time English Tutor. She has a wide range of employment experience, working as a Programme Manager in the 3rd Sector, a Policy Adviser for the Department of Health and a General Assistant on the Elephant Park development in South East London.
Emma-Louise’s current interests includes renovation building and learning French, she is also a keen writer in her spare time.
Ines Castillo Inés is an architect at Simon Bowden and is currently working on a mixed-use development in Richmond.
Prior to joining the team, Inés worked at EMR Home Design in London on several residential projects, as well as at Mas Fernandez Architects in Chile for three and a half years. Here her role saw her designing a variety of competitions and projects, gaining experience on concept and technical design as well as on site.
Inés completed her MAarch at the University of Navarre (ETSAUN) in the School of Architecture and studied six months at the University of Florence.
Outside office hours Inés has developed a social project involving a social dining room for 50 children in Paraguay that is currently under construction.
John Naylor Originally from South Shields, John is a qualified architect, achieving his Diploma at the Architectural Association in 2013, winning the Holloway Prize and the Fosters Prize for Sustainable Infrastructure, and completed his education at Newcastle University.
Prior to joining Simon Bowden, John has worked for MAD, Rare Architects and the Singapore University of Technology and Design, on complex projects of various scales in London, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia and Haiti. He has taught at the Architectural Association (London), Tsinghua University (Beijing) and the Leeds School of Architecture, as well as being an invited speaker at the 3rd Mexican Bamboo Congress in Huatusco, Mexico. He continues to be lead the Architectural Association’s bamboo research programme. He is also a BREEAM Associate.
Since 2013 he has been the co-founder and coordinator of a design education and construction team in Haiti, which looks to fuse cutting edge digital tools and bamboo to present new economic opportunities and safer building practices as a catalyst for ecological restoration.
Giacomo Brusa Originally, from Italy, Giacomo is an Architectural Assistant currently working on the Moxon Street development in Marylebone.
Prior to joining the team, Giacomo recently completed his RIBA Part I at Westminster University where he gained a variety of skills. He developed design concepts as well as gaining experience in architectural representation, model-making and digital fabrication. In addition, he spent a year in Auckland, New Zealand where he developed his artisanship with hands on approach to design as a boat builder. He is fluent in Italian.
Jonathan Rounding Jonathan joined Simon Bowden’s studio in 2017. He has over six years’ experience working on some of the largest regeneration projects in the UK.
Immediately prior to joining the studio, Jonathan worked on several major residential projects with leading London practices including 190 The Strand, the London Dock development, the White City masterplan for the Berkeley Group, Lombard Wharf for Barratt London, Battersea Power Station Phase 4a and the Belvedere Gardens apartment building within the River Thames-side Shell Centre development.
His work and study has taken him from areas as diverse as Western Europe to the jungle highland region of Tana Toraja on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi where he studied the architecture of the ancient Tongkonen ancestral homes. Having undertaken undergraduate study at Newcastle University, he qualified with distinction as an architect from the University of Westminster in 2017.
Jonathan is currently involved in early-stage work for the development of a west London Arts Centre, a major mixed-use development in Brighton as well as several central London luxury developments.
